Buffalo Sabres DFS: Sabres 2nd Line Should Excel Against Dallas

The Buffalo Sabres are taking on the 1-4-1 Dallas Stars this Monday Night in what should be one of Buffalo’s easier matchups to date.

The hockey season is officially a week old! That means everyone’s first week of fantasy hockey should be in the books. I hope our tips and advise helped guide everyone in Sabre Nation to a 1-0 start to their seasons! Against the Dallas Stars we don’t just have one player you should start, we have a whole line.

The Stars are very similar to the New Jersey Devils. They have very good players on their first line and first defensive line. But once you get deeper with Dallas, they don’t have a lot of talent. That’s why for this game I recommend starting second liners, Jeff Skinner, Marcus Johansson, Rasmus Dahlin, Colin Miller and yes, Vladimir Sobotka.

I expect the first line to be stifled by the Stars talented first line, but once Buffalo gets to their second line I believe we’ll see the offense shine. Skinner should find himself in several scoring opportunities, which means everyone else will have ample assist opportunities.

When I initially wrote this article, I wanted to pick the third line. But I think the absence of Conor Sheary will be to much for the line to truly excel. With the fourth line coming off of a huge game against Florida, I find it hard to believe they’ll do it two games in a row.

Colin Miller is a big part as to why I think the second line will excel in this game. Miller has looked very good this year, and I think this game we will see him finally break through for a goal.

I wish you the best of luck in your fantasy matchup this week, hopefully you’re well on the way to being 2-0!
