More From SabreNoise – Offensive Chemistry Is Key During Training Camp

Since the day he was drafted, Sabres fans have gotten glimpses of the skill that Jack Eichel possesses. Whether it was from the development camp scrimmage, or from the recent prospects tournament, Jack Eichel has not ceased to impress all of us with his superior skills. He has shown more drive and heart in his game recently in training camp due to the pressure of making the NHL roster, and he will be taking another key step tonight against the Wild.

Jack Eichel will be featured in the top two lines tonight to give him a good shot at key ice time. On top of that, he will be able to show off some of his leadership skills, as he will be one of the higher profile players on the ice tonight.

Coach Bylsma will certainly be looking for some key offensive pressure coming from Jack Eichel and his line mates, but he should also be looking for his ability to run his line well and his leadership abilities. If Jack Eichel is to make the team and be on one of the top two lines on opening night, he will need to be a shining star on the ice during preseason.

With that kind of pressure will come an enormous red target on his back. He is one of the highest profile young players that will be in the NHL this upcoming season, and opponents will look to take advantage of his inexperience. In case none of you saw, Edmonton Oilers prospect Connor McDavid was laid out with a huge hit from Canucks prospect Jake Virtanen in a prospects tournament earlier this month. Jack Eichel is going to have to be at his best tonight against the Wild. All eyes are on him tonight as he sees some of his first real NHL action. Though it is preseason, he will going up against a number of NHL players and goaltenders over the next few days. This is going to be his chance to really impress Dan Bylsma in order to secure his spot in the top six.

I for one will be watching his every move. Not only am I excited to see how he does against NHL players, but I am excited to see some of the skills he shows off. I have no doubt he will impress.
