Rochester Americans Season Preview

The Rochester Americans will not face 13 American Hockey League teams this season, including the Providence Bruins, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Springfield Falcons. In addition, the Amerks will not face the Manchester Monarchs, St. John’s IceCaps or Worcester Sharks.

Other teams that the Rochester Americans will not face include the newly-renamed Hartford Wolf Pack, the Norfolk Admirals and the Adirondack Phantoms. Finally, the Americans won’t meet the Albany Devils, Portland Pirates, Abbotsford Heat or Charlotte Checkers during the regular season.

Since a majority of the teams that Rochester won’t face are in the Eastern Conference, there’s a good chance that if the Amerks made it to the Calder Cup, they could be meeting a team that they didn’t see at all during the regular season.
