Rasmus Dahlin

Dahlin has been a staple on the Sabres since the 2018-19 season. But here in 2021-22, he’s evolving into one of the NHL’s best two-way defensemen, posting 28 points and a career-high 7.1% shooting percentage.

Dahlin’s stellar play has not gone unnoticed. The former first overall pick received his first invite to the NHL All-Star Game to represent the Sabres and the Atlantic Division. Currently in the NHL’s health protocols, it’s unclear whether Dahlin will be cleared to play in the game.

Nevertheless, the two-way defender has made his mark both with the Sabres and in the NHL. He’s on pace to set career highs in points, assists, and goals on offense. It’s also likely he’ll encroach career-highs on both blocks and hits, assuming he doesn’t miss an extended period in the health protocols. While the other players listed below boast solid credentials, Dahlin is the system’s top defensemen 22 or younger.
