Philadelphia scoring frenzy

The Buffalo Sabres gave themselves plenty of scoring opportunities in their last two games. And although they did not capitalize on them last Sunday against the Tampa Bay Lightning, their set-ups paid off against the Maple Leafs.

Philadelphia is a much easier opponent for the Sabres than the Lightning and Leafs. And therefore, you can expect a scoring frenzy to develop against the Flyers. Something similar to what happened the last time these two teams met in January when the banged-up Sabres won 6-3.

This time around, let’s predict the Sabres score seven goals. And let’s get bolder and project that four of the seven goals will come from players not named Jeff Skinner, Tage Thompson, and Alex Tuch. Instead, you will see the lower-line players finding twine.

The Sabres will set the tone early in this game and they won’t look back. Oh, and look for Owen Power to start things off with at least one assist in this contest. That will serve as the beginning of the top overall pick ascending to two-way status in the NHL.
