Ryan MacInnis returns on a two-day deal
NHL Rumors reported that the Buffalo Sabres are looking to re-sign forward Ryan MacInnis to a two-way contract. MacInnis has been a journeyman at professional hockey’s second-tier for years, having played in four different organizations.
But, he is coming off his second-most productive season with the Rochester Americans, having scored 27 points in 49 games. Only his 2019-20 season with the Cleveland Monsters was more productive. That year, he scored 30 times in 45 games. However, MacInnis notched a career-high 11 goals this past season, his highest since 2016-17 when he scored eight for the Tucson Roadrunners.
Look for the 26-year-old MacInnis to continue his scoring trend into 2022-23. He may not make an appearance for the Sabres, but given his performance last season, MacInnis makes for a tremendous puzzle piece to add depth to the organization that can be a reliable player if called up for spot duty.
