Breakout seasons

Yahoo Sports got it right when they recognized Tage Thompson’s breakout season. His 68 points in 78 games was something no one saw coming. And if he builds on it for 2022-23, Thompson is a shoo-in for the 2023 All-Star Game.

They also acknowledged Victor Olofsson, whose 49 points in 72 games was really more of a Tale of Two Halves of a Season. But in the end, Olofsson played well enough to warrant attention in NHL spheres.

And finally, they also gave Rasmus Dahlin a nod. The all-around defenseman’s 53 points in 80 games did not go unnoticed. Besides his offensive prowess, Dahlin’s defensive ability also shone with 91 blocks and 121 hits.

Yahoo Sports also gave Owen Power a nod. And although Power played in just a cameo this season, he looked as though he belonged in the NHL.
