Alex Bump, LW/Omaha Lancers (USHL)

The 6’0, 194lb Bump played just one season in the USHL and he will be heading to the University of Vermont in the fall of 2023. He was dominant throughout his senior year in high school, with 83 points, 48 goals, and 35 assists in 31 games, something that translated to his 21 games with the Omaha Lancers, where he scored 17 points and 11 goals.

He is a player who craves the puck, and he is a threat to take it upon himself to slice and dice his way through the opposition and into the offensive zone. His speed and puck handling are textbook, so you can describe his play as electrifying.

However, like the most electrifying players in any sport, Bump comes with several flaws. He is one of those players who has gotten this far based on his raw ability, but that’s just that: He’s raw. TCB’s 2022 NHL Draft Guide compared him to Aaron Huglen.

If Adams is looking to take a big risk with the 106th pick, then Bump is his guy. But if he is looking to go the safe route, he will need to look elsewhere.
