2022 Draft Class

Clearly, the 2022 Buffalo Sabres draft class is going to draw a huge amount of interest. We will get our first look-in regarding the likes of Matthew Savoie, Noah Ostlund, and Jiri Kulich. Only Viktor Neuchev will sit this one out, as most Russian prospects attend camp with their respective KHL teams.

Further, we won’t just see the new NHL Draft prospects in the blue and gold for the first time. We will also see how they fare against even NHL and AHL talent. Many of these players have either spent time playing professional hockey overseas, like Kulich and Ostlund, or they spent time playing with their respective junior hockey clubs.

It will particularly interesting to see how the middle and late-round picks fare. Especially the youngest in the crew like Mats Lindgren and Jake Richard. And while it is important not to provide too much of a measuring stick within a four-day camp, it will give us a sample size to see where these rookies stand in the hierarchy.
