3 reasons fans can’t give up on the 2022-23 Buffalo Sabres season

3 – The Sabres are still among the league’s highest-scoring teams

With 190 goals scored, the Buffalo Sabres are fourth in the NHL in the category. Sure, they’ve allowed 182 goals this season, far more than any championship-caliber team should allow, but the Sabres aren’t championship-caliber yet.

Then again, playoff-caliber teams don’t threaten the league lead in goals scored. Their scoring alone has won them games they otherwise would have lost in previous seasons, and you can expect that to happen a few more times this year once they work their way out of this latest slump.

If the Sabres can continue to mask their shortcomings defensively with high-scoring games, don’t count them out of the wild card race until you see an (e) beside their names. That said, Buffalo is still very much alive.
