Eichel trade set the stage for the Sabres success

If the Buffalo Sabres worked things out and have kept Eichel, it would mean the following:

While Tage arrived in the Ryan O’Reilly trade, many forget just how much the Jack Eichel trade affected the Buffalo Sabres top center. Eichel held that position, and I wouldn’t be shocked if Tage were wearing a different uniform or if he’d even still be in the league. We need to remember that the guy was nothing short of an afterthought until his breakout campaign.

The trade has given Buffalo one of the most dominant top lines in the NHL, and perhaps the most dominant top line in the Eastern Conference. The Blue and Gold’s success doesn’t happen in 2022-23 without trading Eichel to Vegas.
