4. A Season of Loss, A Lifetime of Forgiveness by Jon Manasso

I’ll be completely honest – I haven’t read this one yet, but I’m working on it. This book tells the stories of Dan Snyder and Dany Heatley, an unlikely pair of friends who connected through hockey before a tragic car accident in 2003 split them apart and left Heatley’s life forever changed. It’s bound to be a sad story given the subject matter, but is also said to be a wonderful book about loss, forgiveness and peace, even in the face of tragedy. Personally, I still haven’t completely made peace with the accident that occurred, but I’m hopeful that reading this book will allow me to take that step.
