October 4, 2013: Sabres vs. Senators

Pretty tough call, picking the Sabres’ opening home game, right?  Well, I didn’t say ALL of these would be tough.

There’s nothing like the buzz of a home opener, especially with so many questions in the air as the season opens.  Plus, the match-up with the Senators is a nice divisional battle, and with the road to the playoffs containing 3 lanes reserved for the top 3 teams in the Atlantic Division, you better believe that every divisional match-up will be hotly contested next season.

Honorable mention: October 28, when the Dallas Stars and Lindy Ruff visit FNC for the first and only time all season.

I’m honestly looking forward to all games. But here are my 3 games that I’ll be looking forward to the most (Ranked in order of must see)

Oct 28th VS Dallas – Lindy Ruff’s return and to see Nichuskin prove to everyone including Darcy that it was wrong of them to pass up on him.

Oct 14th VS Minnesota – Pominville’s return. Hell might even see an early season trade in which we send Vanek to Minny, Heatley probably have to come back.

Oct 17th VS Vancouver – I live in BC so I absolutely hate the ‘Nucks so both games this year will be a must watch for me.

Pominville’s return was a possibility for me, too!
