  • Pegula has enough money to own both the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills, so there should be no negative impact on owning one or the other?

My question is where was Tom Golisano is all of this?   [Toronto Sun].

I would have thought the former Buffalo Sabres owner would have at least been in on the process of the initial bid.  Tom Golisano’s network is only 1.9 billion dollars.  Maybe he heard how much the bid from Pegula was going to be, so he pulled back on any interest.

Buffalo Sabres release pre season schedule.  [Buffalo News].

You can mark your  calendars for the official start of hockey action as September 21, 2014.  That is the day the Buffalo Sabres will open up their exhibition schedule.

It is a chance for teams to play against someone else – and for guys to earn roster spots in real world situations.  But the games don’t mean anything.  Unless something out of the ordinary happens – exhibition games are largely forgotten within moments of their end.

Maybe it is time the NHL looks at adding the pre season to the regular season, or some how using the pre season record to break ties to get into the off season.  Sure it is an off the wall idea; but why not?  stranger things have happened.  I mean it seems like so long ago that the NHL had ties and we all thought the shootout was an idea that would never stick.  Here is the full pre season schedule.

Pat Kaleta trying to forget last season.  [WGR550].

If he has another season like he did last year – it will be real hard for Kaleta to rebound and continue an NHL career.  Banned by the NHL – banished by his team to the AHL and the Rochester Americans, then suffering a season ending injury.

Training camp officially brings about a level of redemption for the Buffalo born winger.  The league wanted the Sabres to teach him a lesson – clean his game up or impose an impromptu ban on him from the NHL.  Buffalo’s last regime did just that.  He has the heart and tenacity that new head coach Ted Nolan likes though.
