Buffalo Looks To Ground Jets, Again.

First, the Buffalo Bills dealt a beating to the New York Jets on Monday night, and now, the Buffalo Sabres have their sights set on the Winnipeg Jets, hoping to earn their fourth straight win.

Get it? Ground, like flights.

Anyways, the 6-13-2 Buffalo Sabres can climb two spots out of the gutter of the NHL and into the 26th spot. Not great, but better.

The road to recovery is a bumpy one, but it looks somewhat promising.

Over the last three games, we have seen a very different team that what had opened the season, outscoring the opponents by a score of 12-4. Compare that to the team who was blanked four times in six games, while being outscored 16-3.

Lately, we have been witnessing a bit of what this team has been assembled and designed to do, which is get those ugly goals and play near-full games. Yes, this is optimistic for three wins in a row, given that Buffalo should have won more games that they just let slip away.

But still, three wins in a row is a breath of fresh air after the skids we have been on.

Tonight will give the Sabres a tougher opponent to earn that fourth straight win. The 11-9-3 Winnipeg Jets haven’t had the best streak at home, but are fairly successful on the road, coming in off a 4-2 win in Columbus last night. The Jets are 6-4 in the past 10 games on the road.

Not great, but not bad either.

If you’re still a die hard Sabres fan, or jumping back on the bandwagon (by the way, welcome back!) here’s how to catch Buffalo’a action tonight.

MSG-B will take the broadcast tonight, along with Sportsnet One taking the reins on the Canadian broadcast. Along with WGR 550 and TSN 1290 Winnipeg covering the radio broadcasts. Both radio stations have the ability to Listen Live, WGR is here and TSN is here. Both radio stations also offer apps for listening in to the action all season long!

If you are on-the-go, head over to the app store or Google Play and download GameCenter for up-to-date Sabres news and game updates delivered straight to your phone.

Don’t forget about the Buffalo Sabres Official Mobile App as well as the Winnipeg Jets app, available on the App Store and Google Play.

With Ted Nolan starting to believe his chemical make-up, or “status quo” in his own words, it’ll be an exciting game nonetheless.

Josh Gorges has returned to practice, but is questionable as an insert in tonights lineup. Not to fear, for Tyson Strachan has filled the void quite well.

Given his injury but return to the lineup, Michal Neuvirth will be serving as the backup to Jhonas Enroth tonight. Enroth has seemed to have found his feet the last few games, giving Ted Nolan some security in net, and is willing to ride this streak with Enroth in net.

Patrick Kaleta will be seeing time in at center, taking the place for injured Cody McCormick. But expect that Cody Hodgson and Zemgus Girgensons to take a few extra puck drops if needed.

Hmm, two wins against Jets dealt by Buffalo teams this week? Sounds good to me.
