February 28: Sharks vs. Sabres

There are two games in February that I absolutely want to attend.  For starters, you have the high-octane Pittsburgh Penguins coming into town on the 5th, which means the 716 is going to be loaded with star-power.  I mean, who can resist coming out to sample a main course consisting of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, with the extra toppings of James Neal, Chris Kunitz, and Kris Letang?

Catching those stars in action sounds tempting . . . but there’s a nagging voice inside of my head that has me convinced that this game will be a one-sided affair, so instead I am choosing to watch the San Jose Sharks help close out the month of my birthday.  The Sharks have plenty of talent worth watching, as well, especially Logan Couture, who I desperately want to see play for the Sabres.  And yes, this game could be a butt-whupping, too – but I like San Jose, and despise the Penguins, so if I’m going to watch a team crush the Sabres, I prefer the team be likeable.  Besides, something tells me this game will be a close one – dare I predict one that sees overtime?  You heard it here first!  Unless I’m wrong, of course.
