Twelve games on the schedule last night, and unless you are Superman, you are bound to have missed something.  They the hockey gods for the advent of video replay and high definition television.  St. Louis and Colorado are both looking to stay undefeated, and the Buffalo Sabres are looking to stop the fall at seven, and leave New Jersey as the only team without a victory so far in this young season.  Here is the video recap of last night’s NHL action.

Minnesota Wild (3-2-2) vs Toronto Maple Leafs (6-1-0)

Toronto continues to roll to the top of the Eastern Conference.  Minnesota can’t put two in a row together after beating the Buffalo Sabres, falling to the Maple Leafs 4-1.

Buffalo Sabres (1-6-1) vs New York Islanders (2-2-2)

It took extra time and a shootout, but the Buffalo Sabres finally, finally get their first win of the season, and the franchise record for most starts without a win stays at seven.  That also leaves New Jersey as the only remaining franchise left without a win.

Vancouver Canucks (4-3-0) vs Philadelphia Flyers (1-6-0)

The Flyers continue to struggle to find any momentum in the young season, and drop another game under new head coach Craig Berube, this time a 3-2 decision to the Vancouver Canucks.

Edmonton Oilers (1-5-1) vs Pittsburgh Penguins (5-1-0)

The Penguins were too much for the Oilers to handle, as Pittsburgh slips by a 3-2 victory over the Oilers in Pittsburgh.  When will all those high draft picks work out for the Oilers?

Chicago Blackhawks (4-1-1) vs Carolina Hurricanes (2-2-3)

It hasn’t all been peaches for the Chicago Blackhawks this season, but a 3-2 shootout victory over the Hurricanes moves them 4-1-1 on the season.

Los Angeles Kings (4-3-0) vs Tampa Bay Lightning (4-2-0)

It wasn’t a good night for the Kings on either side of the puck, letting Tampa ring the bell five times – and only getting one red light themselves.

Columbus Blue Jackets (2-3-0) vs Detroit Red Wings (5-2-0)

A low scoring affair in Detroit as the Blue Jackets and Red Wings face off against each other for the first time as members of the Eastern Conference.  Detroit walks away with a 2-1 win.

San Jose Sharks (6-0-0) vs St. Louis Blues (4-1-0)

It was a battle of unbeaten teams in the Western Conference, only one team could walk away unscathed, and the Sharks tripled the Blues 6-2 to remain one of two unbeaten teams in the West.

Montreal Canadiens (4-2-0) vs Winnipeg Jets (3-4-0)

The Canadiens shutout the Jets 3-0

Dallas Stars (2-3-0) vs Colorado Avalanche (6-0-0)

Dallas tries to notch the Avalanche in the loss column but falls short, Colorado remains undefeated with a 3-2 contest.

Ottawa uses overtime to go triple deuce and give the Coyotes their third loss of the season.
