Craig Anderson logs his 300th career win

Craig Anderson’s 300th career win came on the same night ex-Sabre Jack Eichel made his return to the KeyBank Center. The Sabres massive upset over the Vegas Golden Knights already made this one a memorable affair, especially given Alex Tuch’s takeaway in the closing moments from Eichel, which turned out to be the game-sealing goal.

Despite the Sabres getting the last laugh over Eichel, whose post-game comments confirmed the forward was still tasting sour grapes, Anderson, 40, was the real winner on this night. Anderson had an unforgettable evening in the net, saving 31 of 32 shots on goal for a .968 save percentage.

While the Sabres have had some terrific goaltenders in the past, Anderson’s 300th win makes the list because he was the only goaltender in team history to score his 300th win in a Sabres uniform. And although he did not join the team until his career twilight, he will forever be immortalized in Sabres lore.

Other notable Sabres on the list include Ryan Miller and Dominik Hasek. However, Miller reached the milestone with the Vancouver Canucks and Hasek, the Ottawa Senators.
