Michigan goaltender Erik Portillo looks to pass against Denver during the second period of the Frozen Four semifinal at the TD Garden in Boston on Thursday, April 7, 2022. /

7 – Erik Portillo

Portillo would rank a bit higher if he already signed with the Buffalo Sabres. But as of right now, things are looking null and void, even if he did attend development camp, said all the right things, and enjoyed a good outing.

Portillo has also boasted a phenomenal college career at the University of Michigan. Over his first two seasons with the Wolverines, in which he served as a teammate to Owen Power, he played in 49 contests, winning 35 of them with just 11 losses.

He has also never tallied a save percentage under 0.926 in a single season, or a GAA higher than 2.14. If Portillo snags yet another awesome season with the Wolverines, general manager Kevyn Adams must try to do everything in his power to convince Portillo to sign.
