Linus Sjodin, C/RW

The Buffalo Sabres snagged Linus Sjodin with the 211th overall pick. And he will hope to follow the same path as right-winger Victor Olofsson, another former Swedish prospect the Sabres drafted in the seventh round who is coming off of a productive season with the squad.

But until then, Sjodin can use the World Juniors as yet another audition for Kevyn Adams and company. He displays electrifying puck control and stick handling, and he has the uncanny ability to calculate each move with the puck before he pulls it off.

Sjodin also knows how to draw defenders in before he commits to a quick pass to a teammate, which, in-turn, leads to scoring opportunities. Like Kulich over in Extraliga, Sjodin showed some flashes in the SHL for Rögle BK, putting up 11 points, five goals, and six assists in 49 games.

Overall, it will be exciting to watch all three prospects perform for their respective countries. And who knows, maybe they will lead their respective nation to the gold as the World Juniors kickoff on August 9th?
