Buffalo Sabres Look To Penetrate Gates Of Hell
The Buffalo Sabres are coming off a 2-1 loss against the Philadelphia Flyers. With their lone goal coming from Nikita Zadorov, who has 7 points in over 30 games. As the Buffalo Sabres look to stop their most recent losing skid as do the New Jersey Devils, who are on a 4 game losing streak themselves, the Buffalo Sabres are not concerned with Zadorov’s points so far, but more his adaptation to the play.

The thing we want to see from him and every young player is that consistency,” said coach Ted Nolan in a video posted on the Sabres’ website. “He’s going to get his points, but right now we’re not so concerned with his point total as his overall play; how he’s going to jump up on a play, how he’s defending, how to eliminate his little miscues here and there. But the points are really nice right now because he’s got an offensive touch to him. And I think as the years go he’s going to get better and better.”– NHL.com
The Buffalo Sabres are getting set to take on the New Jersey Devils, and with a 7 point lead on last place at this point, the Sabres could look to change their ways for a game or two and actually put a win up on the board. Tonight versus any other night wouldn’t matter at this point, so why not a win for the fans.
Patrick Kaleta will again be out for an extended period of time needed surgery and missing 4-6 weeks at this point. This is his second extended absence after taking a puck to the face in the beginning of the year. Josh Gorges will also be out for the Sabres as he did not make the road trip. With lineup changes for the Sabres expected tonight with these two players being out, there is another story-line as well to this game, Brian GIonta may be facing off against his little brother Stephen Gionta who has been cleared to play tonight and was seen splitting time Jacob Josefen centering Dainius Zubrus and Martin Havlat who are part of the 4th line.
The Buffalo Sabres are due for a win as are the New Jersey Devils, but I think that tonight, the Sabres move forward and play a well fought game against the Devils and are able to come out with a win. With what we saw from newcomer Zach Bogosian, and his physical play on the backend, which is what Ted Nolan stated as “what we had ordered”, I think that they will come out on top tonight. Buffalo Sabres win 4-2 with an empty netter.
