Good morning, Buffalo Sabres fans!
The Buffalo Sabres begin their annual development camp this week, starting this morning and going through July 12. Some of the Sabres’ top prospects, including Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart and all 2015 NHL Draft selections, will be in attendance at this week’s camp in preparation for the upcoming season.
With that, we’ll start off this morning with some prospect talk.

Now, go check out this piece from the folks over at Today’s Slapshot where they pick the top five prospects for the Sabres. Really, is there any doubt that Eichel leads the way? No, of course not. But the important thing to remember is that Eichel, Reinhart and co. aren’t the only prospects in the organization, and there’s quite a bit of depth there.
Speaking of Jack Eichel — he certainly seemed excited to be joining the Buffalo Sabres, didn’t he?
I mean — really, who wouldn’t be excited? It’s the beginning of his NHL career, the beginning of everything, really, and what he’s been working for up until this point.
Eichel is excited about being in Buffalo, and it seems like Buffalo is equally as excited to have him. Between his work ethic and personality, he’ll fit right in here in the 716, at least according to The Buffalo News’ Bucky Gleason. Check out his article about Eichel here.
Other than the draft and development camp, it’s hard not to talk about NHL free agency, which is arguably one of the biggest topics in the hockey world at the moment.
From Bleacher Report this morning, a ranking of all thirty NHL teams after the beginning of free agency.
According to Dave Lozo at least, the Sabres rank 27th in the league after the beginning of free agency (as of July 6).
