Tyler Ennis Bright Spot in Buffalo Sabres’ Loss

Thursday night, the Buffalo Sabres lost a frustrating matchup, falling to the Florida Panthers 3-2.  With that being said, Jaromir Jagr is truly an ageless wonder.  The veteran had himself a night with two goals and an assist.  The Sabres kept the game close, but could not hold on to score that final equalizer.

Watching the game as a Buffalo fan was not very exciting at all.  Florida dominated on offense and the Sabres were desperately trying to keep up with the Panthers all game long.  Florida cashed in on their power play attempts, scoring two goals on the man advantage.  Jagr and Alexander Barkov combined to score the three total goals for Florida.

With that being said, here are my three Buffalo Sabres stars of the game.

First Star-Tyler Ennis

More from Sabres News

Ennis had one of the Sabres two goals.  Ennis took a one time slap shot that found its way into the net past goaltender, Roberto Luongo.  Ennis also contributed three hits and had five shots on net for the Sabres.  After watching Ennis for the first four games of the season, I can tell this is a player with truly hustles.

Ennis can turn on the jets at any given moment and always plays hard every shift he is out on the ice.  The assistant captain is a great player fellow teammates should look up too.

Tonight’s goal may very well be the beginning of a scoring streak for the young veteran.

Second Star-Jake McCabe

The young defenseman opened the scoring for the Buffalo Sabres in the second period and had the other goal for Buffalo in last night’s matchup.

McCabe could be subject to get called back down to Rochester once fellow blue liner Zach Bogosian comes back from his injury.  However, after providing some offense tonight, McCabe may have stated his case for management to keep him on the NHL roster.

Personally, I believe McCable is a solid young defenseman with big league starting potential.  If he stays in Buffalo, he can learn a lot and hopefully transition into a regular on the Sabres’ roster.

Third Star-Rasmus Ristolainen

Risto has looked exceptionally well for the Buffalo Sabres during this 2015-2016 NHL season.  This kid has a cannon of a shot from the point and can pick corners on the net like it is nothing.  Tonight, Ristolainen seemed to carry the puck up ice well into the offensive zone and had an assist on Tyler Ennis’s goal.

Ristolainen will soon find himself being the number one defensemen on this young Buffalo Sabres team.
