The Buffalo Sabres will continue their three-game series with the New York Islanders this afternoon. The Sabres are coming off another awful performance Thursday night where they got outshot by a wide margin and lost 5-2.

Buffalo is currently on a five-game losing streak, and they are desperate to get a win to end this slump. The Islanders have not dropped a game in regulation at home yet this season. The Sabres have a very tough task at hand as they plan to give New York their first regulation home loss.

The Sabres offense has been almost non-existent as of late. Buffalo’s goals per game average has dropped down to 2.19, which is good for 29th in the entire league. While their offense has been struggling, their defense has not done anything to help them out either, as they give up 3.05 goals per game. That ranks them at 20th in the league for goals allowed.

The Islanders are not a team that a team struggling on offense would want to face.  New York ranks third in the league in goals allowed per game, with 2.22. And they rank third in shots on goal allowed, with 27.7 per game. They have not had any issues keeping the Sabres in check this season as Buffalo is 0-4 against the Islanders so far this year.
