The Buffalo Sabres will look to end their ten-game losing streak tonight when they take on the Washington Capitals. The Sabres have not won a game since February 23rd, which was a 4-1 win over the Devils. So we are getting dangerously close to an entire month without a Buffalo victory.

The Capitals have been playing exceptional hockey over the past couple of weeks. Over their last ten games, they are 8-1-1, and they currently sit in second place in the East Division. Unlike the Caps, the Sabres have been playing the worst hockey in the league over the past few weeks, as they are 0-8-2 in their last ten games.

The Sabres are coming off a 3-0 loss to the Penguins on Saturday night. Buffalo wasted a quality performance from their goalkeeper Carter Hutton, who had his best performance of the season, making 31 saves on 32 shots. But the Sabres were unable to create any offense, so his performance was all for not.

Buffalo is now down to 2.15 goals per game, which ranks them at 30th in the league. The only team in the NHL that averages fewer goals per game than the Sabres are the Ducks. If this awful stretch of hockey continues much longer, you have to assume that there will be some significant changes incoming.
