The Buffalo Sabres will take the ice tonight without Ralph Krueger for the first time since the 2018-2019 season. Krueger was relieved of his duties as the Sabres head coach yesterday morning, just one day after Buffalo lost to the Devils and extended their losing streak to 12 games.

The Boston Bruins are the last team in the East Division that the Sabres have not yet played this season. Boston currently sits in fourth place in the division with a record of 15-8-4. The Bruins are coming off a 2-1 win over the Penguins, which ended a two-game skid. But they will indeed look to take advantage of the struggling Sabres.

Buffalo will look to start Don Granato’s head coaching career with an impressive win over a rival. It will be interesting to see if there are any surprise changes in the lines tonight with a new head coach in charge. But, that could be difficult to determine as it seemed like Krueger had new lines for every single game.

This will also be the last game before Buffalo allows fans back into KeyBank Center. If the Sabres could get a win and snap this enormous losing streak right before fans are ready to come back, that could be one of the very few positives that Sabres fans have seen this season.

Carter Hutton is expected to start in goal tonight for the Sabres, and Jaroslav Halak is expected to be the Bruins starter.
