Sabres back on the ice to take on Rangers in New York City
The Buffalo Sabres will be back on the ice tonight after their last scheduled game was postponed. The Sabres were supposed to play the Boston Bruins on Saturday, but it was canceled after the Bruins announced that they had placed five players on the COVID protocol list. Buffalo will be in New York City tonight to play the New York Rangers.
The Sabres are currently on a 13 game losing streak. Buffalo has been struggling in every facet of the game as of late. They are averaging only 2.03 goals per game, which ranks them last in the league. The Sabres also allow 3.41 goals per game, which ranks them at 28th in the league.
Some good news for the Sabres is that Dylan Cozens looks like he will be back in the lineup. He has not played in a game since March 11th, which is when he got hurt against the Pittsburgh Penguins. He took a late hit that sent him into the boards, and he left the game and has not played in a game since.
Carter Hutton will likely be the starter for Buffalo as the Sabres just traded Jonas Johansson to the Colorado Avalanche for a 2021 6th round draft pick. Hutton has a record of 1-10-1 with a 3.48 GAA and a .885 SV%.
