They finally did it. The Buffalo Sabres have won a hockey game. They snapped their 18-game winless streak with a decisive 6-1 victory last night over the Philadelphia Flyers. The Sabres will look to start a winning streak tonight as they take on the New York Rangers.

The Sabres have looked much better through their last two games, even though they are 1-1 in their previous two. Buffalo put together a great first 40 minutes on Monday but could not hold their lead. Last night they finally put it all together and ended their over a month-long losing skid.

Carter Hutton is still likely going to be out. So if Ullmark gets the second half of this back-to-back off for rest, the Sabres will probably start Dustin Tokarski in goal. Dylan Cozens is still listed as out after suffering an injury on Monday night.

This will be the Sabres’ fifth meeting with the Rangers this season. Buffalo is 1-2-1 against New York so far this year. If the Sabres can get the win tonight, they will do something that they have not done since January 26th, and that is win two games in a row. And who was the team the Sabres beat to win two in a row in January? The New York Rangers.
