The rest of the NHL does not want to see the Buffalo Sabres get hot, and by the Sabres standards, they are scorching hot right now. Of course, I am kidding, but Buffalo has been playing much better as of late. They will look to extend their points streak to five games tonight when they take on the New Jersey Devils.
The Sabres are 2-0-2 in their last four games and have held the lead at some point in each of their previous five games. Interim head coach Don Granato has the team playing some of the best hockey we have seen from them all season.
Linus Ullmark will likely be the starting goaltender tonight for Buffalo. This season against the Devils, Ullmark has a record of 3-0-0 and a save percentage of .949. Ullmark has been playing at a very high level since returning after his injury, and I expect him to keep it up tonight.
Taylor Hall will be out tonight with the trade deadline approaching quickly. It has been rumored that the Sabres would want multiple first-round picks in return in a trade that would include Hall. It looks very likely that Hall will be moved before the April 12th deadline, and with Hall being held out of tonight’s game, that is a sign that a trade will probably happen sooner rather than later.
