Just over a day after the Buffalo Sabres sent Taylor Hall and Curtis Lazar to the Boston Bruins, the two teams will face off. In return for Hall and Lazar, the Sabres received a second-round draft pick and forward Anders Bjork.
It has been noted that Hall plans to play against his former team tonight, and given how the season has gone so far for Buffalo, we should fully expect to see Hall score at least once for the Bruins tonight. Bjork will make his Sabres debut tonight, skating alongside Dylan Cozens and Arttu Ruotsalainen.
The Sabres and Bruins have only played each other twice so far this season. Both of those games ended in regulation time wins for Boston. Tonight is the first of six remaining matchups between these two teams for the rest of the year, so they will become very familiar with each other over the final month of the season.
The Sabres are coming off an impressive 5-3 comeback victory over the Flyers on Sunday afternoon. They will look to build off of that game and string together a couple of wins. A win tonight would surely make the Sabres faithful happy, given who was recently acquired by their opponent.
Linus Ullmark will likely get the nod to start in net tonight. He has played well lately, and Buffalo hopes to sign him to a new contract before he hits free agency this offseason.
