The Buffalo Sabres will take on the Boston Bruins tonight for the first game in a three-game series that ends on Friday. All three of these games will be in Buffalo. The Sabres have been playing very competitive hockey as of late, and they will look to keep this going against Boston this week.

The Sabres are coming off of a fantastic showing on Sunday afternoon against the Penguins. The Sabres won 4 to 2, being led by Sam Reinhart‘s two goals and 34 saves on 36 shots from Dustin Tokarski. Buffalo continues to show improvement with Don Granato acting as the head coach.

With the Sabres being out of playoff contention officially, they now can play the role of spoiler. And with less than a month left in the season, they will look to do just that. Boston is currently the fourth-seed in the East Divison, the last spot that gets into the playoffs. The Bruins are only four points ahead of the fifth-seeded Rangers.

The Sabres have not beaten the Bruins yet this season. They came close in their last matchup but fell in a shootout in Taylor Hall’s debut as a Bruin. These two teams play each other four more times after tonight, and I do not think there is another team that Buffalo and their fans would like to try and push out of a playoff spot more than Boston.
