The Buffalo Sabres begin their last two-game series of the season tonight as they will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena in Pennsylvania. Buffalo is done with home games for this year after their last two games against the Islanders, which both ended in Sabres victories.

After rookie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was sidelined due to injury, the Sabres were forced to turn to their sixth different starting goalie so far in Michael Houser. Houser has risen to the occasion so far, with two stellar performances against one of the league’s best teams in the Islanders.

Through his two starts, Houser has allowed an average of 2.4 goals per game and has a save percentage of .940. He also was perfect in his only shootout performance. And most importantly for him, he has two wins. He will have the opportunity to go 3-0 as a starter this year tonight in Pittsburgh.

In terms of playoff seeding in this game, the Penguins are currently four points ahead of the Bruins for the second seed in the east. But Boston has played two fewer games than Pittsburgh, so the Penguins will be playing to keep the two seed. Houser and the Sabres will have their work cut out for them in these final two games if they hope to end the season strong.
