Not too long ago we all saw Jack Eichel’s agents at the time, Peter Fish and Peter Donatelli, put out a statement basically bashing the Buffalo Sabres organization. Saying that the process is not working and making it very clear where they stood on the drama between Eichel and the Sabres. But here we are, almost a month after this statement was made, and Jack is still a member of the Buffalo Sabres.

And today, reported by Elliotte Friedman, Eichel is now going to be represented by Pat Brisson. Brisson is the best of the best when it comes to hockey agents. He has represented and secured massive contracts for players such as John Tavares, Patrick Kane, Johnathan Toews, Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon, and many more.

This is obviously a big move for Eichel. He is one of the best players in the league, and he wants to be represented by the best agent in the league. He is expecting big money when it is time for him to sign a new contract, which at this moment in time, is tough to tell when that will be.

After Jack’s entry-level contract expired after the 2017 season, the Sabres signed him to an eight-year, $80 million contract that will not be up until after the 2026 season.  So if he plays through this contract, we have some time before he needs to sign another one.

But the chances are slim for him to see this exact contract through as there is a no-move clause starting in the 2022-2023 season that extends through the final four seasons of the deal. And we all know how much Eichel doesn’t want to stay in Buffalo.

Next. Where should UPL start the season?. dark

As the season draws closer and closer, it will be interesting to see how the relationship between Eichel and Brisson and the Sabres will be, and if it will be much different from how it was with Jack’s previous agents.
