The Buffalo Sabres play the second half of a back-to-back tonight. Last night they got a much-needed win to stop a hefty losing streak. The Sabres took down the Oilers last night in Buffalo. Edmonton is one of the best teams in the league to start the year, but Buffalo did a great job limiting McDavid and the Oilers and getting the win.

Tonight’s matchup does not get much easier for the Sabres, as they take on their rival from north of the border, the Toronto Maple Leafs. Buffalo has some nice momentum from their 3-2 win from last night, specifically Dylan Cozens. Cozens tallied two goals in the Sabres win.

This will be the first meeting between these two rivals since February 16th of 2020, a game in which Buffalo won 5-2. So there could be some built-up aggression tonight since the Sabres and Leafs haven’t seen each other in over a year and a half. And with the US-Canada border now open for travel, we can expect a lot of Leafs fans to make the trip to Buffalo.
