The Buffalo Sabres have five defensemen playing in the NHL, AHL, and college ranks who will help redefine the franchise within the next three seasons.

While the Buffalo Sabres have struggled in yet another season, they have a nucleus that has either risen or is rising through the ranks. And the sheer talent at defense will be fun to watch sooner than later, with a few prospects listed below having already shown Sabre fans a glimpse of the future.
