The Buffalo Sabres kicked off their final three games before the All-Star Break with a win before ending with two uninspiring performances

It’s no secret the Buffalo Sabres have struggled in 2021-22. It’s also no secret they’ve struggled for the past decade. But there’s always hope in this franchise that next season will get better. Then next season comes, and it’s the same, old uninspiring hockey we’ve grown accustomed to seeing.

So why not start improving this thing now? No, the Sabres probably aren’t going to the playoffs unless they embark on a miracle run. Instead, they need to focus on having a better second half of the season than their unremarkable first half.

Where does this team need to improve? In just about all facets of the game. They’re inconsistent in scoring, even more inconsistent on defense, their penalty kill is off the charts bad, and as has been the theme this season, they can’t get healthy.

You can point to a plethora of issues in the Sabres game. But here are the most pressing areas of improvement they need to focus on following the All-Star Break.
