The Buffalo Sabres are heading in the right direction as a franchise, even if the win-loss record doesn’t show it. General manager Kevyn Adams has spearheaded the youth movement through the draft and wheeling and dealing for younger talent. He has also held onto holdovers from the Jason Botterill regime.
The Sabres begin their second half of the season starting on February 10th against the Columbus Blue Jackets. And since they figure to be sellers at the trade deadline barring a miraculous turnaround, Sabres faithful will still have a reason to tune in with at least a dozen young players aged 24 and under stepping up.
