The Buffalo Sabres played inspiring hockey in March 2022 and they gave fans plenty of reasons to tune in
The Buffalo Sabres will close out the regular season on April 29th and they won’t make the playoffs for an 11th-straight season. The Sabres won’t even finish in the top half of the Atlantic Division, meaning their offseason will begin early.
So why bother tuning in for the final month of action? Because this was a season where the W’s and L’s didn’t mean as much as it did for the Sabres meshing as a team. And in March, they built chemistry in all facets of the game.
Sure, they had some ugly losses in March, and they will suffer a few demoralizing defeats in April. But the team shined with an 8-3-3 record, earning 19 out of 28 possible points. And they did so against top-tier NHL teams.
In April, the Sabres will once again face a gauntlet of playoff contenders. Among the top-tier competition they’re slated to play, the Sabres will meet their heated division rival, the Toronto Maple Leafs for the season’s final chapter.
They will also get another chance to beat Sam Reinhart’s Florida Panthers. One of the most underrated reasons to watch the Sabres in April stems from goaltender Craig Anderson‘s quest to build upon his 302 career wins.
And finally, the Sabres wrap up the season at home against the Chicago Blackhawks. Of course, the Blackhawks are looking to put the Sabres comeback win on March 28th in the review mirror.
As you can see, there are plenty of reasons to tune in and see if this team can build off last month’s success. And overall, the Sabres will give you even more reasons to watch as their 2021-22 season winds down. Let’s explore the top five reasons to watch in April.
