The Buffalo Sabres aren’t seeing the same success in April 2022 as they saw in March, but that’s doesn’t mean we shouldn’t get bold

The Buffalo Sabres embark on a two-game homestand starting tonight. They face the St. Louis Blues before meeting the Philadelphia Flyers for back-to-back contests – one at home and one on the road.

These two matchups are also the Sabres last slate of consecutive home games of the season as they will play their final two against New York Islanders and the Chicago Blackhawks non-consecutively.

And while this might be the time of the year where Buffalo sports fans might start thinking NFL Draft and their beloved Bills, let’s not forget that there are plenty of reasons to tune in to the Sabres over the next two weeks.

Of course, we got Owen Power, who looked good during his NHL debut. Now that his first game is in the books, we will see if he can emulate his success. Not just Power, but the Sabres need to do the same following their 5-2 blowout win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

And they will have a chance to see if they can keep the momentum going against the ultra-talented St. Louis Blues. The Sabres also face a challenge of looking strong against inferior competition, and the Philadelphia Flyers will give them that competition.

Buffalo needs to prove to the NHL world that they can handle teams either on the same rung or one rung below them. And the Flyers further symbolize that team.

So how bold can we go as the season reaches its twilight phase? These days, it’s not as risky to go ultra-bold with the Buffalo Sabres as we have done in the past. Here are three bold, yet sensible, predictions for the season’s final slate of consecutive home games.
