It looks like Buffalo Sabres defenseman Henri Jokiharju will remain with the Buffalo Sabres for years to come, considering the house he just bought.
In the last eight games of the 2021-22 season, Buffalo Sabres defenseman Henri Jokiharju took command of the second pairing, in which he teamed with rookie Owen Power. The two formed a dynamic duo, and perhaps Jokiharju is that veteran defenseman general manager Kevyn Adams is looking for to pair with Power. If one thing is for certain, Jokiharju definitely made his case.
He also purchased a new house for $1.05 million. The townhome once belonged to former Buffalo Sabre Rasmus Ristolainen, who the Sabres traded last offseason for a 2021 first round pick, defenseman Robert Hagg, and a 2023 second round pick.
The town home originally went up for sale at $1.1 million. And for Jokiharju, it shows that he wants and expects to remain in Buffalo whether he winds up continuing to pair with Power or takes a spot on the third pairing.

Another former Sabre saw the value drop on their old house. His name? Jack Eichel. One month after the Sabres cut ties with the disgruntled forward and traded him to the Vegas Golden Knights for Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs, and a first and second round pick, his town home also went on the market.
Eichel recently reduced the townhome’s price from $1.3 million to $1.199 million. Whether the new price attracts buyers remains to be seen.
The former Sabres captain made his return to the Key Bank Center on March 10th, 2022 in a game that resulted in a 3-1 loss to the Sabres. Following the defeat, he delivered his infamous “seven years to get into the game” interview.
