Even though the Buffalo Sabres have tons of money to spend, don’t expect them to make any crazy signings in free agency for 2022.

Here at Sabre Noise, we’ve talked a lot about the Buffalo Sabres going out and signing some of the biggest names out there in the free agent market. Johnny Gaudreau, Filip Forsberg, among others. But in reality, those names might be a dream for some Sabres fans.

Now who knows? They might make a big splash but don’t expect Buffalo to make any crazy signings. This is just pure speculation but here’s a prediction: Buffalo will not sign any big names in free agency. Again, this is just a prediction. Kevyn Adams could have other plans but this is just guessing he won’t make any big moves.

Buffalo Sabres most likely will not make a splash in free agency

Let me clarify on this prediction. When talking about big names, I’m talking about players such as Gaudreau, Marc-Andre Fleury, Evgeni Malkin and Forsberg. Those big name players who want big money and the ones that fans know their names.

With all of the money Buffalo has, they could definitely sign at least one of those guys (assuming one of those players would want to come to Buffalo). But something tells me it won’t happen.

A big reason why, Buffalo will need the money to extend players like Tage Thompson and Dylan Cozens in the near future. With that being said, NO ONE predicted Taylor Hall to sign with Buffalo. Even though the signing didn’t workout for either side, it was a big name player coming to the Sabres.

Again, this article could be mean nothing if Buffalo were to sign a big name player but with this core of players they have, the Sabres probably wouldn’t want to ruin the chemistry. Especially if this is the team we’ll see going forward.

More. One free agent to pursue, one to stay away from. light

I still think they’ll sign players who can help out. But when it comes to the biggest names on the market, I personally don’t see them signing anyone. But I’ve been wrong before.
