If the Buffalo Sabres want to break the playoff drought, they will need to overcome a tough March. Here is a prediction of their schedule in March 2023.

The Buffalo Sabres didn’t do too bad in the month of February but if they want to end this long playoff drought, the month of March could potentially be the deciding factor in if they do that or not. Buffalo will be playing 15 games in the month and they will face some challenging tasks.

Those 15 opponents will include the Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, Edmonton Oilers, New York Islanders, Dallas Stars, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Washington Capitals, Philadelphia, Boston, the Nashville Predators, New Jersey Devils, Islanders, Montreal Canadiens, and Rangers.

Yes, they will be facing a couple of teams more than once in March. Up first, a meeting with the Bruins. Boston has had Buffalo’s number all season and they will once again beat the Sabres in this one. The Sabres will host the Philadelphia Flyers a couple of days later and will bounce back with a win.

Multiple challenges in March 2023 could make or break the Buffalo Sabres season

Edmonton comes into town next and I think Buffalo loses a close one. The Oilers game will be the first game of a back-to-back as the Sabres will travel to New York for a duel with the Islanders. Unfortunately for Buffalo, I got them losing but earning a point.

Up next, a home game against the Stars. After losing two in a row, Buffalo rebounds with a win. For the first time all season, the New York Rangers will be seeing the Sabres. I got the Sabres winning this one after the Rangers were a thorn in Buffalo’s side last season.

The Sabres will be heading out onto the road for a three-game road trip. First up, the Maple Leafs. After winning the couple of games against Toronto, I predict Buffalo to lose this one. I think the Sabres will suffer another loss against the Capitals after leaving Toronto.

To wrap up the trip, Buffalo will head to the City of Brotherly Love to take on the Flyers. Buffalo gets a win in this one before they head home for a 3 game homestand. Once again, the Sabres will face the Bruins. After losing a couple games to them, I think this is the game Buffalo finally defeats Boston.

Nashville is up next and I think the Sabres will lose this one. To conclude the homestand, Buffalo will welcome in the Devils. I got the Sabres winning on the first game of a back-to-back. The team will be going back to New York to take on the Islanders.

Unlike the last meeting, the Sabres will get the win this time around. For the last 2 games of March, Buffalo will be at home for both of them. Montreal comes to town first and I got the Sabres taking it. However, they will lose to the Rangers to close out the month.

March Record: 8-6-1 (17 points)

Overall Record: 41-25-9 (91 points)

As you can see, the month of March will be a back and forth affair for the team but I got them finishing with a winning record. What will be in store for Buffalo in the final month of the season? Stay tuned!
