Buffalo Sabres fans mailbag: Answering your questions!
With nothing going on in the Buffalo Sabres organization, it’s time to change it up a bit and answer questions about the team.
It has been very quiet on the Buffalo Sabres front. With it being August and training camp a month away, there really hasn’t been anything going on which is expected. With that being said, I thought I would change it up a bit. Yesterday, I sent out a tweet.

I only got 2 responses which is unfortunate because I was hoping to get more. However, the questions were great one’s to answer so with that being said, let’s dive right into it shall we?
Buffalo Sabres Mailbag Question 1
This seems to be a commonly asked question amongst the fanbase. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is an interesting player for the Sabres. He’s mostly been down in the AHL with the Rochester Americans but every now and then, he’s been up with the Sabres.
As for this season, it’s a mystery how many games he will play. I do think he will be in Rochester to start the season. Buffalo will roll with Craig Anderson and newly signed goaltender Eric Comrie. But injuries can happen and other things as well, so I could see UPL playing 10-15 games. Assuming he’s in Rochester but as of now, it’s hard to tell with the season still a couple of months away.
Buffalo Sabres Mailbag Question 2
The final question is about the expectations for the Sabres this season. This comes after me predicting their record for each month and them having a good season. Realistically though, I can see this team pushing for a playoff spot. If they can stay healthy and if the goaltending can be solid, then it’s definitely possible they can be in the postseason.
That’s a big if, especially the goaltending. While Anderson was pretty solid overall, he did have some tough moments and got hurt a couple of times. With Comrie, if he can pan out to be the goalie that general manager Kevyn Adams viewed him as then the Sabres will be in good shape.
