I asked Buffalo Sabres fans who should be the captain and assistant captains and they delivered. I gave my thoughts on their replies.

It’s another edition of Sabres fans mailbag! A few days ago, I put the following question on Twitter and Facebook. I asked Buffalo Sabres fans who they think should be the captain and the two assistant captains.

I asked and you guys delivered. Let’s take a look at some of the responses and my thoughts to them, shall we?

This one is an interesting thought. We have Kyle Okposo as the captain. For home games, the assistant captains would be Alex Tuch and Zemgus Girgensons. On the road, Rasmus Dahlin and Jeff Skinner would have the A on their chest. I do like the idea of Okposo being the captain for this season alternating the assistant captains on the road and at home.

Spoiler alert, many Buffalo Sabres fans said Okposo for captain.

For the sake of this article, I’ll leave a few responses out. So let’s take a look at a few of the different responses that jumped off the screen.

I agree with this take. If you know me personally, you know I’m a huge Alex Tuch fan. But during the last couple of years, Okposo has really solidified himself as a true leader on the Sabres. Even the assistant captains will be hard to determine because the team has so many leaders in the locker room. I wouldn’t be surprised if Tuch got the A on his jersey.

We got our first Tuch as the captain. Personally, I feel like Tuch and Okposo are going to be the top candidates to have the C. Alex does have the qualities of being a captain and I think he will be in the future. But as we have already talked about, I have Kyle getting the captaincy this season.

I would like to apologize if your tweet/response didn’t make it in the article. As mentioned earlier, a lot of the responses were the same and I didn’t want you to keep reading the same names. In my opinion, I think this is how it will go: Okposo gets the captaincy, Alex Tuch gets the A and Zemgus Girgensons will get the other A.
