EA Sports NHL 23 came out with their season predictions and had the Buffalo Sabres finishing last in the Atlantic Division.

The Buffalo Sabres have not played a single game yet and I’m already making a statement about the team. Earlier today, EA Sports NHL 23 made their yearly predictions for the season. Divisions, playoffs, player awards, you name it.

I couldn’t help but laugh at where they ranked the Sabres in the Atlantic Division. As you can see in the tweet below, they have Buffalo finishing dead last in the division.

Yes, even behind the Montreal Canadiens. I don’t mean to sound cocky or disrespecting Montreal, but I’m willing to bet that the Sabres will not finish behind the Canadiens. I’m genuinely curious, what did Montreal do in the offseason to make people think they’ll finish ahead of the Sabres?

EA Sports crazy to project the Buffalo Sabres to finish last

I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt because they did bring in Kirby Dach and Evgenii Dadonov. They also drafted Juraj Slafkovsky with the first overall pick. But on paper, I do think the Sabres have the better roster overall. I’m not the only Sabres fan who thinks Buffalo will do well this season.

Remember when I asked Sabres fans how did they think the team would do? The general consensus is they think the team can do pretty well. Even though Montreal was a better team after Martin St. Louis took over as head coach, I still see the Sabres being ahead of them.

Again, I’m not trying to disrespect Montreal or sound like a cocky Sabres fan, but having them last in the division is something I don’t see happening. When it comes to how the team will do, I’m not going to talk about that but I’m willing to bet my life savings that Buffalo will not finish last.

How do you have a team finishing in 5th in the Atlantic in the year before going down to 8th the next season? It makes no sense. No wonder why people think their games are trash, this is just another reason to laugh at them.
