The Buffalo Sabres are 4-1-0 after defeating the Vancouver Canucks. Here are your biggest takeaways from the victory over Vancouver.

With the Buffalo Sabres heading into Seattle, they have officially swept the Western Canada road trip. The team is now 4-1-0 with a couple of days off before they take on the Kraken to conclude the four game road trip. While watching the game, there were a few things that stood out to me and that’s what I will be talking about in this article.

First and foremost, how about Rasmus Dahlin? The Sabres star defenseman continues to stay hot after scoring his fifth goal of the season in five games played. In the last game against the Calgary Flames, Dahlin broke the record for an NHL defenseman scoring four goals in the first four games. Last night, it’s now five goals in five games.

Another player on the team who is remaining hot, Alex Tuch. He scored his sixth goal of the season last night and is in second place in the NHL when it comes to scoring. Steven Stamkos is the only player who’s ahead of him with seven goals. It looks like Don Granato’s decision to put him back on the first line payed off. It’s been awhile since we have seen any Sabres in the league leaders section but we have two of them.

The last takeaway, Buffalo’s goaltending remained strong. Eric Comrie has stolen the spotlight in the last two games but this time, it was Craig Anderson’s turn. We haven’t seen Anderson play since the home opener so it was good to see him back out there and he was awesome.

During the second period, Vancouver started to come to life. After scoring their first and only goal of the game, they started to turn it up a bit. The Sabres needed Anderson to come up huge and he delivered. Buffalo is starting to have a habit of sitting back a bit but so far, they have two goaltenders who can back them up.
