The Buffalo Sabres are finally coming home after a four-game road trip. Here are the biggest takeaways from the last four games on the road.

Even though last night’s game against the Seattle Kraken didn’t go so well, the Buffalo Sabres still had a pretty good four game road trip. The team was able to get six out of eight points on a tough road trip and they also beat two good teams in Edmonton and Calgary.

It was a stinker against the Kraken to conclude the trip, but Sabres fans should be pretty happy to take three out of four wins. In this article, I’m going to give you my biggest takeaways from the trip.

Buffalo Sabres: Key takeaways from West Canada/Coast road trip

The most obvious takeaway for me was Rasmus Dahlin. Even though his historic goal streak came to an end, he was able to register a point last night. As of now, Dahlin has five goals and four assists and also leads the team in points with nine. During the road trip, Dahlin scored three goals and registered three assists.

He is off to a great start and hopefully he can keep it going moving forward. The Sabres goaltending was pretty solid as well. You can’t blame Eric Comrie for the loss last night. Yes he could’ve saved one or two of them, but he was not getting much help from the team in front of him.

Overall though, him and Craig Anderson did a great job. They made some big time saves and were a huge reason why Buffalo did well overall. The Sabres goaltending was the biggest question mark going into the season and even though it’s still early, both Comrie and Anderson have been impressive to this point.

Buffalo’s penalty kill did a pretty good job as well. In previous years, the Sabres had an average penalty kill but now, it’s a different kind of penalty kill. What I mean by that is they aren’t just looking to clear the puck. If they have a chance, they will look to skate it out of the zone and at times, try and get a scoring chance.

Lastly, I want to tell fans that they shouldn’t worry about the lack of productivity from Jeff Skinner and Tage Thompson. They have one goal and four assists combined, with Tage having the only goal out of the two. I do think they’ll figure it out and even though it’s something to think about, I don’t think it should be a concern amongst the fanbase.
