The Buffalo Sabres have an opportunity to kick off November 2022 on a strong note against an ailing and aging Pittsburgh Penguins team.
The Buffalo Sabres made a name for themselves in October 2022, starting off the season 6-3-0 and knocking down 12 points in the process. They currently stand in second place in the Atlantic Division, behind only the mighty Boston Bruins (18 points). Ironically, the Penguins are coming off of a loss to none other than Boston, and they will look to redeem themselves against the Sabres.
But at this point, one must wonder whether age is catching up to the Penguins, which sits among the highest in hockey at 29.4. And if that’s the case, the Pens will have a tough time dealing with a young but dramatically improving Sabres squad. Let’s look at the odds.
Buffalo Sabres vs. Penguins Odds – Game 10
Per Fan Duel, the Buffalo Sabres are currently +1.5 underdogs to the Penguins. The Over/Under for the game sits at 7, and the Sabres moneyline is +104. The moneyline for the Penguins is -125.
Buffalo Sabres vs. Penguins Prediction – Game 10
Here is a fact: The Pittsburgh Penguins will finish in the Top 3 in the Metropolitan Division and will make the playoffs. They will work out the kinks in their game, even at the advanced age of their best players, and they will also dominate down the stretch.
But not today, as Pittsburgh is still in the midst of working out their struggles while the Sabres are enjoying offensive outings that seem to be growing stronger by the contest. Look for the Sabres to conclude their homestand with a win over the Penguins, 4-3.
And as the projected score suggests, the Penguins, the experienced team they are, will give the Sabres all they can handle. I am expecting this contest to be a hard-fought one decided late in the third period on a goal from none other than the ultra-competitive Rasmus Dahlin.
