The Buffalo Sabres are on their way to becoming the NHL’s most exciting hockey team, but a formidable opponent might have other ideas.

The Buffalo Sabres are 7-3-0, and their 14 points rank second in the NHL’s Atlantic Division. Then there are the Carolina Hurricanes, a team that has swiftly become one of the NHL’s most dangerous and a perennial Stanley Cup contender.

As it stands, the Hurricanes are 7-2-1, with 15 points, which ranks second in the Metropolitan Division behind only the upstart New Jersey Devils. And while the Hurricanes are a team that can shut down some of the NHL’s best, so are the Sabres, having beaten squads like the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames.

And despite their poor record, the Pittsburgh Penguins are no slouches and they will probably get it together sooner than later. So do the Sabres have what it takes to upset what might be their biggest challenge so far this season? Keep reading for more.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Hurricanes Prediction – Game 11

With the Sabres having averaged seven goals per game over their last two contests, it’s tough to bet against them at this point. But all teams are due to lose, and the Sabres, coming into Raleigh to face one of the NHL’s best might not be up for this challenge.

The logical part of me says the Hurricanes are going to win this thing outright, but with the Sabres on such a roll, the what-if factor also comes into play. The Sabres, given their larger goal differential, have shown they can also win convincing games, but the Hurricanes seem to squeak by with just enough to secure the W, with their last four wins coming by one goal.

I won’t fully trust the Sabres with consistency until at least January 2023, given their bad habit of granting their fans fools gold. And given the Hurricanes ability to eek out close games, I’m saying the latter wins tonight 6-5, with the Sabres tying the game late, but unable to secure the W in overtime.
