The Buffalo Sabres are 7-5-0 after dropping two straight and have fallen to sixth in the Atlantic Division standings. Can they turn it around tonight?

The Buffalo Sabres are on a two-game losing streak, but given their recent rash of injuries in the defensive rotation, plus the fact they played two of the Eastern Conference’s toughest teams in a two-game road set, it is a small losing streak that has surprised few. Yet despite the losses, the Sabres also played the Carolina Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lightning well.

Now, they are facing the Arizona Coyotes, seemingly the NHL’s weakest wonder. Despite rebuilding and playing in what is by far the NHL’s smallest arena, the Coyotes have made a living playing the role of early-season spoiler, upsetting the likes of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers, to name a few.

So will the Sabres be the Coyotes next victims? Let’s check out the odds.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Coyotes Odds – Game 13

Per Fan Duel, the Buffalo Sabres are -1.5 favorites at home against the Coyotes. The Over/Under is 7, and the Sabres moneyline is -215. The Coyotes moneyline is +176.

Buffalo Sabres vs. Coyotes Prediction – Game 13

While the Coyotes are tougher than they look and the Sabres are banged up, this game is a must-win for Buffalo in the season’s early going. And when faced with a sense of urgency so far this season, the Sabres have often prevailed.

They showed it after splitting a home set to kick off the season when they traveled north of the border and knocked off the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames. The Sabres did it again just last week when they put up five goals in the third period against a tough Pittsburgh Penguins team, despite the Pens current woes.

Since the Sabres have responded well to adversity, I’m giving them the edge in this one, 5-3, with a late goal giving them enough of an advantage to sneak away with a win here as they prepare to faceoff against Jack Eichel and his Vegas Golden Knights this Thursday.
